Weighted Sunbursts

It's sort of a Treemap crossed with a Sunburst. The Weighted Sunburst shows a hierarchy from inner to outer arcs. Those area encodes an element-specific value, e.g. size, child count, cost or something like that. In order to make the topology more visible, levels are colored by an even/odd pattern.
Elements on lower levels of large hierarchies are quite small in common Sunbursts. This is not the case in a Weighted Sunburst. As there's an additional attribute encoded, important elements on lower levels stand out because of their length. A drawback on the other hand is the increased size of the Sunburst. This visualization approach is therefore problably best suited for rather broad but flat hierarchies.

You can drag the Sunburst on its center and zoom with the mouse wheel.
